We Stand Forgiven

No, we really can’t have enough hymns that revolve around the atoning work Jesus accomplished when He died on the cross. Once we face the reality of our abject sinfulness, we embrace His cross with unbridled joy because it guarantees our forgiveness.

So I love all the marvelous old hymns which celebrate the forgiveness Jesus secured for all who would believe in Him. And I appreciate present-day day hymns that add to the celebration, as long as they maintain Biblical perspectives. This week’s hymn certainly does that, exalting the Savior Who bore the wrath we deserve.
