Why I’m Outspoken

Tulip SilhoutteOn June 26, 2015, the United States Supreme Court ruled that same sex marriage is a Constitutional right. As we’ve seen in states that already had legalized same sex marriage, LGBT activists want to silence Christians who continue to declare the Bible’s teaching that homosexuality is a sin.

Additionally, more and more evangelicals today compromise with secular culture by amending their convictions on an ever widening variety of matters. Too many professing Christians compromise God’s Word in order to accommodate the culture, and often they censure those who would call them back to sound doctrine. Sadly, they mistake an absence of strong Biblical teaching for “unity.”

But the Lord calls His people to turn from the world to follow Him. My blog challenges people to think and live  biblically within a culture that increasingly resists Christ. I desire to honor Him. Therefore, I will speak boldly about the Word of God, even when doing so goes against popular opinion. Scripture, not prevailing culture or evangelical fads, informs my worldview.

I will address various trends in  the professing church that defy sound Christian doctrine. Many readers may find my views offensive. So test what I write against Scripture. Use the Comment Form to show me when I misinterpret God’s Word. But always let His Word be the final authority.

  1. Hi Deb! Great post on God in a box. I noticed you wrote “except” and I think you meant “accept.”

  2. Thanks for your message on Why I’m Outspoken. I am appalled at the Supreme Court’s action on Same Sex Marriage. Can anything be done to eliminate it? I have lost a longtime friend who called me a bigot after our disagreement on this issue. Your blog was referred to me by a Christian friend and this is the first time I have seen it. I would like to know what is Reformed Theology?

    • Explaining Reformed Theology goes far beyond the confines of my Comments Section, Louise, though reading my Explaining My TULIP page could offer a nice introduction. I’ve learned it largely through the ministry of John MacArthur, as well as through the many wonderful blogs I recommend on my sidebar. Hopefully reading my blog and others will help you develop an understanding of this approach to God’s Word.

  3. Hello
I love your writings. You are inspiring me to greater appreciation of the bible.
At the moment I must admit that I am a man reading your blog but starting Monday I can proudly join as a woman so don’t worry about that.

    • I pray that you will embrace your God given gender. Whatever medical intervention you try, you will always be a man. It breaks my heart that you are rejecting the way He created you. I beg you to reconsider this transition! My husband and I will pray that God changes your heart as you read His Word.

  4. Good for you. We need more “out-spoken” women in Christianity. We need people who will stand up for what is right. I do it too. The world that we live in makes it difficult but I think God’s worth it. Christ died for us so we can live for Him. Thank you.
